"White Linen Nights" in the Heights

Dear fellow Dems,

Looking for a “sultry, steamy, exotic, and artfully provocative” good time?  If so join the Greater Heights Democratic Club Sat night August 2 from 4pm – 10pm for White Linen Nights in the Heights.  The event billed as a “celebration of art, culture and community” has something satisfying for everyone. Last years event brought out an estimated 20,000 visitors to this New Orleans style “FREE” event; located primarily along 19th St, 11th St, and Studewood.

This year GHDC (Greater Heights Democratic Club) will have a table at the Houston Heights White Linen Night on 19th street .  Our plan is to help the Noriega Campaign id voters for their GOTV efforts, sell T-shirts, register voters, and to have a fun group of folks that can help our Democratic candidates meet the estimated 20,000 visits / voters that will be in the Heights for this once a year event.

In order to make this work we need your help.  Greater Heights Democratic Club is looking for volunteers to help man the GHDC table for 1 hour shifts.

If you would like volunteer for this great Heights area event please email Kevin J Hoffman at kjhman12002@yahoo.com or call (713) 305-5468.  Please state in your email the times that would work best for you.

Shifts:

Pride Parade, June 29, 2008

Posted in GHDC Blog, Photos at 3:45 am by M Beauregard

No other parade entry personifies the theme of "Family"as precisely as does the Harris County Democratic Party.  Indeed HCDP is the ultimate Family because it is the umbrella organization for all local Democrats.   Our group includes:
       * elected officials

       * reform minded candidates running for office
       * numerous neighborhood Democratic clubs
       * individual activists
       * but most importantly, VOLUNTEERS, just as yourselves!!

The Democratic Party has always and proudly supported the GLBT agenda; and several of our candidates on the November ballot are openly gay.

The "MPeach Bush Art Truck" represents action that should have been taken years ago to preserve  the Constitution and protect the civil liberties of all Americans.  However, despite this missed opportunity, we now embrace, but paraphrase the lyrics of Sister Sledge: "I got all my Democrats with me, so  get up EVERYBODY, and
VOTE for our family!!"
