Congressmember Rahm Emanuel will be the featured guest at the 2007 Johnson-Rayburn- Richards Dinner, slated for Saturday evening, October 20, 2007, at the JW Marriott Hotel on Westheimer. As chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006, Representative Emanuel is credited with being the architect of the Democratic takeover of the United States House of Representatives, when he spearheaded the strategy which led to Democrats winning 30 new seats in the Congress. He now serves as chair of the House Democratic Caucus, the fourth highest ranking leadership position in the U.S. House of Representatives. Before being elected to Congress, Rep. Emanuel served as Senior Advisor to President Bill Clinton. Noted for his strong partisan style, Rep. Emanuel is co-author of the 2006 book, The Plan: Big Ideas for America.

Johnson-Rayburn-Richards Dinner (recently renamed to include and honor the late, great Ann Richards), is "Democrats Waltz Across Texas".
