PASSING OF A TERRIFIC DEMOCRAT, Sue Trapp

Longtime Harris County Democratic Party Office Volunteer Sue Trapp passed away Thursday. Sue had been a dedicated contributor to the Democratic cause for years, working tirelessly and selflessly behind the scenes to assure a viable Democratic presence and organization in Harris County. She was the person who scheduled volunteers to staff the HCDP headquarters and the individual who made endless calls and trips to solicit items for HCDP auctions, sponsors for HCDP events, and items for HCDP headquarters. She worked at least one day a week – and frequently more than that – as an HCDP office volunteer, doing whatever needed to be done, – from ordering supplies to acquiring Democratic merchandise and memorabilia on line. And most remarkably, she did it all without need for personal recognition or accolade – just to do her part (and so much more than that) to put Democrats in Harris County in a place where we can win elections here.

Co-workers at the Party, fellow volunteers, Democratic activists throughout the county, and many, many others whose lives she touched and who were inspired by her unwavering devotion to Democratic principles and ideals and her remarkable willingness to put her energy and her time where her heart was, mourn her passing and express our sincere collective condolences to her husband Roy and the rest of her family. In honor of her hard work for the HCDP and in her memory, the silent auction at this year’s Johnson-Rayburn-Richards Dinner will be known as the “Sue Trapp Memorial Silent Auction.”

You hear this a lot when someone passes away, but in this case it is incredibly and uncommonly true: she will be missed!
