Last day of the Legislative Session is Mon. May 28.
Air Quality:
Farrar successfully amended Bonnen’s bill to impose the tightest cumulative air quality restrictions on industry to date. Future of the bill remains unknown/bleak, since it must pass through conference committees of both Chambers before next Mon. (this was in the Chron http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/special/07/legislature/4815054.html)
but she has made the case on behalf of residents and environmental groups that toxic pollution to those living along the Ship channel will no longer be tolerated!
Budget:
appears to be hung up in conference committees, so there could be a Special Session afterall to get passage.
